Why we grow this way

By mimicking natural processes and ecosystem principles, we can create a more resilient and food-secure future for everyone. Through food forest design, we lessen our need for human maintenance and intervention, and growing our own food and medicine becomes pleasurable and enjoyable.

By getting out of the way and encouraging ecosystem services and other beings to carry out their natural biological functions in our landscapes, we can lessen the amount of the traditional "work" found in gardens and landscapes. Predatory wasps lessen "bad bug" pressure on our choice edibles. Nitrogen-fixing plants feed other plants. Some plants like to grow in the shade and nooks of others. And the list goes on.

Which means spending more time with family and eating mangoes in hammocks for us humans.

We combine our many years experimenting on the ground and studying permaculture and agroforestry principles to provide you with the best selection of mutually beneficial plants that will nourish you and your family, the soil and the other plants and animals in this community.
